This is the practical guide. If you want to know why the game is built the way it is, start with how VRF resolves a round instead.

Before you start

You need a wallet and some funds on Base. Nothing else — there is no account to create, no email to confirm, and no deposit to a house-controlled address. Your funds stay in your wallet until a transaction you sign moves them.

If your wallet has never touched Base, it will need adding as a network. Most modern wallets do that automatically when a site asks; if yours does not, the network details are on base.org.

Getting funds onto Base

There are three routes, in roughly increasing order of friction.

Buy directly on Base from within the app. This is the shortest path if you are starting from nothing and it avoids bridging entirely.

Bridge from another chain. If you already hold assets on Ethereum or another L2, the in-app transfer flow will route them to Base for you. Bridges take minutes, not seconds, and they charge a fee on both ends — budget for that rather than being surprised by it.

Withdraw from an exchange directly to Base. Cheapest if your exchange supports it. Check that it does before sending anything: withdrawing to the wrong network is the one mistake in this list that is not recoverable.

Connecting

Open the dApp and connect. The signature your wallet asks for at this point proves you control the address; it does not approve any spending and it does not move funds. Read it — this is a habit worth having everywhere, not just here.

If you are on a phone, connecting will hand off to your wallet app and come back. If it does not come back, reopen the site from inside the wallet's own browser instead.

Placing the prediction

Pick a multiplier. This is the only real decision in the game: a higher multiplier pays more and clears less often, and the relationship between the two is fixed in the contract rather than set per player. The interface shows you both numbers before you commit.

Enter an amount, and sign. That signature is the point of no return — from here the round belongs to the contract.

What happens next is described in detail in the VRF post, but briefly: your bet lands on-chain, the contract requests a random word, the coordinator answers with a proof, the contract verifies that proof and settles. Usually a handful of blocks. If the interface is slow to update, the round is unaffected; it is already being decided on-chain, and the result will be the same whether or not your browser is watching.

Afterwards

Every round you play is linkable to its transaction. Open it on BaseScan and you can see the request, the fulfilment and the settlement in sequence. There is no separate history that we control and you do not.

That is worth doing once, early, even if you never do it again — not because you should distrust the interface, but because knowing you could check is the entire difference between this and a website that simply tells you what happened.
