Every round requests randomness from Chainlink VRF. The contract verifies the cryptographic proof before it accepts a value, so the number cannot have been chosen after your prediction. The request, the proof and the settlement are all on-chain.
How Chainlink VRF resolves a roundYes. Honest randomness and a house edge are independent things. The edge is arithmetic inside the settlement function, fixed at deployment and readable in the deployed contract on BaseScan — you do not have to take our word for the number.
